Synthetic grass has many advantages over natural turf such as: No watering Safe Playing Surface Low Maintenance Fees All Weather Surface Football Football/Soccer systems usually compromise of a long pile carpet filled with sand and rubber granules to give the same performance and feel as natural turf. UK Track and Pitch ensure the maximum performance attainable from synthetic turf by not mixing the sand and rubber together. By laying the rubber on top of the sand the surface does not compact and become hard. This type of system is FIFA recommended. We can also offer other turf systems for football to suit your budget. Hockey A hockey playing surface requires a shorter pile carpet dressed with sand only and no rubber. We also offer a sand filled system which is much harder than the sand dressed but more economical - sand dressed systems are also ideal as a dual purpose system for schools and colleges where it can also be used for football.. Artificial turf systems, often refered to as Astroturf™, are predominantly used for football and hockey although we are finding that many schools want a safe surface for their pupils to play on at all times to prevent injury and possible legal action.
